Senior Congress leader Pawan Dewan yesterday met the Canadian Defence Minister Jason Kenney at Toronto. Dewan is currently on a tour of Canada.Dewan was accompanied by Canada president of the Indian Overseas Congress, Amarpreet Aulakh. He said, the Canadian officials showed lot of respect for the Punjabis living there, saying Punjabis were a hardworking and honest community which had made a mark in all spheres of the Canadian life, whether economic, social or political.
The Congress leader also talked to the community members and leaders about the forthcoming visit of former Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh to North America. He said, people are eagerly waiting for Capt Amarinder as he commands lot of love and respect among the NRIs living in these countries.On the occasion Roubik Gastonia, Advisor to Defence Minister of Armenia in Europe, Joe Daniel, MP, Costas Menegakis, MP, Brad Butt, MP, John Carmichael, MP, Peter Van, MP were also present.
