Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal  today inaugurated  the first of its own kind mechanized cleanliness system in the state here and announced  that the same system will be replicated in all five corporation cities by October this year.Badal while inaugurating this mechanized cleanliness project from Mohali, said Jalandhar, Amritsar, Ludhiana, Bathinda and Patiala will be brought under this project within one and half month. He said this project would further be launched at tehsil level with a view to make Punjab the country's most clean and litter free state.The Deputy CM also announced that after including five corporation towns, the newly made corporation towns would also be part of this project. He said by the end of December all the major towns of the state would have mechanized cleanliness system.           

Clarifying that their would be no adverse affect on the employment of already working safai sewaks, Mr. Badal said there would be proper distribution of areas in B and C roads including internal roads. He said these roads would be divided into beats so that complete mechanized and manual cleaning will be ensured. He said the sole purpose of launching this unique mode of cleanliness was to provide basic amenities to the residents of state besides ensuring 100 percent cleaning of streets and roads. He said the work to be done under this system would be of world class, paving a way to make Punjab most clean and beautiful state.Answering a media query Mr. Badal apprised that the company, which had got the contract, would clean 55 kilometers of total roads during night hours. He said on the other hand the safai sewaks will get 87 kilometer and 307 kilometers of B and C category roads to ensure proper cleanliness. He said the staff will have a rolling dustbin and other apparatus of cleaning roads and streets.

 In another media query Deputy CM said that there were no differences in the  ruling alliance. He said the ties between the SAD-BJP were unflinching and long lasting. On the issue of cross border infiltration, Mr. Badal said he would speak to Home Minister Mr. Rajnath Singh and would urge him to install ultra modern gadgets on the border to check infiltration.When asked about the alleged involvement of some politicians in anti-social activities, Mr. Badal said whosoever indulged in wrongful  practices would be dealt under the relevant provision of law.Answering a query regarding claims of Chief Parliamentary Secretary Mrs. Navjot Kaur Sidhu regarding discrimination with her constituency, Mr. Badal refuted all allegations said the government had incurred more than promised amounts in her constituency while the development works worth Rs. 2400 crore were going in Amritsar.

Meanwhile Mr. Badal also visited Mohali International Airport to take a stock of the situation. He also announced that this airport will also be dedicated to the people of country very soon.Prominent amongst those present on the occasion included Mr. Prem Singh Chandumajra, Mr. Jangveer Singh, Media Advisor to Deputy Chief Minister, local Member Parliament, Mr. Balwant Singh Ramoowalia, Former Union Minister, Bibi Amanjot Kaur Ramoowalia, Secretary Local Bodies Mr. Ashok Gupta, Mr. Uma Shanker Gupta, Commissioners Municipal Corporation Mohali.
