DLSA observes children’s day, provides legal awareness to people

In connection with children’s day, a legal awareness camp was organised by District Legal Services Authority at Government Girls Higher Secondary School Bandipora today. Presided over by Principal District and Sessions Judge Bandipora Haq Nawaz Zargar, the camp was attended by Chief Education Officer, Bandipora, Principals of various schools, Bar members, officers from various departments and the students from various educational institutions. Rights of children, child labour and other components of child development were highlighted during the camp and in addition, various laws of the betterment of children to prevent them from atrocities were also discussed.

Among other speakers, 9 students also spoke on the occasion out of whom Aaqila Shama, Mohammad Azhar and Mohammad Saleem were adjudged Ist, 2nd and 3rd respectively.Chairman of the Authority before distributing certificates among participants, said that the parents and the teachers should give moral education to the children in order to abolish social evils. He hoped that the awareness camp will bring fruitful results in future.
