DDC Ganderbal flags off orchardists

As many as 21 orchardists from the all the four blocks of the district Ganderbal including Ganderbal, Wakura, Lar and Kangan were flagged off today by the District Development Commissioner Ganderbal, Mr. Sarmad Hafeez in a simple but impressive function here at the Mini Secretariat Complex Ganderbal.During the one week tour the farmers are expected to visit Manali, Palampur, Kullu, Horticulture Research Institute (IHBT) Palampur and various other places of Horticulture importance. Major thrust of the training programme visit shall remain on dissemination of technology to know about modern, scientific know-how and applied Technology in Horticulture Sector.

Speaking on the occasion, District Development Commissioner Ganderbal appreciated the role and efforts of the Horticulture Department in transfer of technology and bringing out social economic change in the farming community.District Development Commissioner stressed upon orchardists for taking full advantage of such programmes and adopting scientific techniques for extending maximum benefits of the schemes of Horticulture.Chief Horticulture Officer Ganderbal Sh. V. K. Gupta briefed District Development Commissioner Ganderbal about the programme and also interacted with the orchardists, while taking stocks of the arrangements, made for the farmers going for exposure visit.On this occasion, Chief Planning Officer, Ganderbal besides various other officers were present.
