To deal with drinking water scarcity in Chak Bijan, Adarsh Enclave, K C Colony and Trikuta Nagar Extension, Minister for Housing, Horticulture and Culture Mr. Raman Bhalla today laid foundation of a deep drill tube well at ChakBijan, to be completed at a cost of Rs. 196.96 lakh.Executive Engineer Public Health Engineering (PHE), senior officers from PHE department and prominent citizens  of Trikuta Nagar  were present on the occasion.While addressing a large gathering at Trikuta Nagar Extension Mr Bhalla informed that on commissioning of the tube well problem of water scarcity in the area would be solved to a larger extent. He said the project would be completed within 4 months by PHE department. He said Government is committed to ensure adequate drinking water supply to the people and to cater to the demands  deep drill tube wells and hand pumps would be dug up .

Mr. Bhalla informed that Government has already commissioned 22 tube wells under ERA and 10 under state plan in his constituency to ensure that no household remains without this vital facility. He called upon the people not to waste drinking water and use it judiciously.

The Minister informed that Government has formulated a comprehensive plan for laying of water supply pipes in Channi Himmat area. He said the project would be started by Economic Reconstruction Agency soon after completing the tendering formalities.Mr. Bhalla asked the executing agency to gear up their men and machinery for completing the project in scheduled time so that the people do not face any inconvenience.

The Minister said an effective monitoring mechanism has been put in place to enforce accountability and transparency in implementation of developmental schemes. He said Coalition Government has introduced various reformative measures to extend improved basic amenities to the people of the State especially those living in rural areas.Responding to the locals demand, Mr. Bhalla said Government has earmarked Rs. 40 lakh for road widening and macadamization of Chak BIjan, Adarsh Enclave and Trikuta Nagar Extension internal links, adding that the project would start soon after completing tendering formalities. He stressed upon the executing agency to redouble their efforts and accelerate pace of all ongoing works undertaken.The Minister said Government is committed to provide all basic amenities to the people at their doorsteps. He asked the inhabitants to protect public property adding that Government has been spending worth crores of rupees for developing every corner of the state on modern lines by creating concrete assets.Mr. Bhalla asked the officers to reach out to the people and resolve their problems. He assured the people that all their genuine demands and development needs would be fulfilled in a phased manner.
