Reiterating the commitment of government towards providing quality education to the para-medic students undergoing training in Government Medical Colleges and Ancillary Medical Training institutions in the State, Minister for Health, Medical Education, ARI & Training, Ch Lal Singh today said that the steps would be taken to strengthen the infrastructure in these institutions.The Minister said this while chairing a meeting of Officers convened to review the functioning of J&K State Para-Medical Council at Government Medical College Srinagar.

The Minister said that the infrastructure in these institutions would be developed as per the norms and guidelines of the Medical Council of India (MCI). He said that necessary measure would be initiated to strengthen the medical council at all levels.The Minister asked the Council to strengthen the AMT Schools functioning in the state so that students get quality education.Principal, GMC, Srinagar Dr. Rafiq Ahmad Pampori apprised the Minister about facilities being provided to the students in the college. Meanwhile, the Minister asked GMC to ensure that students who complete the training receive their Diploma certificates in time.Director, Health Services, Kashmir, Director, Health Services, Jammu, Mission Director, NHM, Registrar, Medical Council, besides other senior concerned officers were also present in the meeting.
