In view of arrangements being made by the Divisional and District Administration for ensuing celebration of Shab-i-Qadr, Jamat-ul-Vida and Eid-ul-Fitr festivals, the Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Dr. Asgar Hassan Samoon convened a joint meeting of officers of Divisional Administration representatives of various Trader Federations of Srinagar district. The threadbare discussions were held for every possible facilities being provided to general people like Ration, Atta, Sugar, LPG and other basic facilities.The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Dr. Farooq Ahmad Lone, Vice Chairman LAWDA, Director CA&PD, Chief Engineer EM&RE Kashmir, Regional Transport Officer Kashmir and representatives of various Trader Federations of Srinagar city.

The Div Com also convened a meeting through Video Conference of all Deputy Commissioners of Valley including Deputy Commissioners of Leh and Kargil and reviewed the arrangements being made in their respective districts for these auspicious days.The Div Com asked the departments of Food Safety, CA&PD Kashmir, Srinagar Municipal Corporation and Metrology departments to intensify the market checking in the Srinagar city and take legal action against profiteers and black marketers so that increasing prices would be controlled.The Div Com directed all Deputy Commissioners of Valley for providing better transport facility to the people during these auspicious days.

Dr. Samoon also directed the Municipal authorities to provide better sanitation arrangements around the Eidgahs, Dargah Hazratbal, Makhdoom Sahib, Khanyar Ziyarat, Saria Balla, Khanqah Moula, Asari Sharief Kalashpora, Jenab Sahib Soura, Ziyarat Sharief, Syed Sahib Sonwar and other important religious places. He also directed the PDD and Srinagar Municipal Corporation for installation of street lights at important places of Srinagar city.

The Div Com took stock of availability transport facilities being provided to the general public during these auspicious days. He was informed that better transport facilities will be provided to the people for Dargah Hazratbal, Eidgah and other religious places by SRTC and other transport services.Dr. Samoon was informed that for the minimizing the traffic jamming in the city a traffic route plan would be formulated so that the traffic management would be streamlined.The Div Com directed all Deputy Commissioners of Valley to get set right the all damaged electric transformers of their districts before commencing of Eid-ul-Fitr so that people may not suffer for supply of electricity.
