Minister for Health and Medical Education, Choudhary Lal Singh, accompanied by Minister for R&B, Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari, Director Health Services, Kashmir and Mission Director, NRHM , today, visited Chanapora and took stock of ongoing work of Public Health Centre (PHC) Chanapora coming up at a cost of Rs 20.30 crore. The Minister also inspected old PHC building which has been damaged and developed cracks. The PHC is presently functioning in ground floor of new building.The Minister was informed that 80 percent work of the building has been completed while work is apace on Operation Theater, Central Heating System besides installation of lifts. 

The Minister instructed executing agency and authorities of health department to speed up and ensure that ground and first floors of the building are made functional within two weeks besides giving power and water supply within two days. He released Rs 4 crore for early completion of the project.Health Minister said that the health centre would be equipped with latest and modern facilities and diagnostic facilities. He said sophisticated bedding facilities would be made available in the Centre.Syed Altaf Bukhari while appreciating the efforts of the health minister and the authorities of health department said that need is to make the health centre fully functional early. He said new PHC will have modern facilities. He said the new PHC will cater the needs of the patients as it would be equipped with sophisticated medicare facilities.
