A deputation of representatives of various panchayats of block Udhampur called on District Development Commissioner, Udhampur, Mrs. Yasha Mudgal and presented her a charter of demands regarding issues related to railways and other development works.
The representative of Panchayats including Cherry Sayal, Selmari, Chak-Patla etc demanded providing of approach road, Foot over bridge at Udhampur Railway Station, construction of toilet block at Cherry Sayal near railway station, road connectivity from Village Talana to Chak, restoration of natural water source near railway tunnel in village Chak, provision of railway crossing in between village Chak and Patla besides repair of MES road Udhampur-Cherry Sayal.The DDC assured the deputations that the issues would be looked into for redressal as early as possible. She also asked the railway authorities to make a joint visit to assess the possibility of resolution of the problems of the villagers. She stressed upon the representatives of railway to provide railway crossing near railway station Chak by taking the people of the area in confidence.The DDC apprised the people that she has already approached the Military Engineering Services for repair of link road to railway station Udhampur. Among others, Joint Director Planning, Mr. Rakesh Jamwal, Deputy Chief Engineer, Northern Railway, Executive Officer, Municipality, Chief medical Officer, officers of various department and Sarpanches were present on the occasion.
