Questioning the deliberate silence of state congress leaders on the culpability of the PM in the Colgate scam in the wake of the recent developments that have unfolded, National Spokes Person Kissan Morcha, BJP and Punjab government’s assistant media advisor Vineet Joshi today asked the Congress to look inwards before apportioning blame on frivolous issues against the ruling combine in Punjab. “Its like the pot calling the kettle black,” Vineet Joshi retorted in a statement issue here on Wednesday. He advised state congress chief Partap Bajwa and his motor-mouth media spokesperson Sukhpal Khaira to introspect the ill-founded justification with which Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh continues to hold his office despite the colossal damage that the nation is left to face, both in terms of its image and monitory loss in the scam.Vineet joshi said Punjab Congress leaders have formed a habit of convenience where they often prefer to remain silent on matters that involve scrutiny of their political Godfathers on whose patronage they survive sans any electoral base. “Why are Congress leaders silent on the Rober Vadra land controversy. Such matters warrant a clear answer before the electorate,” he said.

Acts and posturing limited to mere political rhetoric by these leaders defies not only political acumen but also exposes the farce that surrounds the Congress, Joshi held.At the drop of the hat, Joshi said, Congress leaders issue statements even on non-existing issues, perhaps with an objective to hog the limelight. But the same leaders look for cover when they are asked about the Dr Manmohan Singh’s culpability in coal scam worth thousands of crores of rupees. “The state Congress should in fact also write an open letter to its president Sonia Gandhi asking her to come clear on the infamous scam by his son-in-law, Robert Vadra in Haryana,” he said.Accusing state Congress chief and his spokesperson of double standards, Vinnet Joshi said the Congress needs to walk the talk, just like the SAD-BJP government in Punjab.

He added that Bajwa, Khaira and Sunil Jakhar need to question UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi and PM Dr Singh as to why the latter’s name did not figure in the FIR registered pertaining the coal blocks’ allocation eight years ago in the name of Aditya Birla Groups chairman Kumar Manglam Birla. “Dr Singh should have been the prime accused.  The then coal secretary Prakash Chand Parekh too is screaming that if CBI smells a rat in the entire allocation, the onus lies on Dr Singh who gave the final nod as competent authority,” he said.  Given the growing clamor over the PM’s involvement in the scam, Joshi said he apprehends that there  could be attempts to initiate proceedings to quash the FIR or dilute its essence.  Joshi added that leader like Bajwa or Khaira have no moral right to raise objections to the decisions of SAD-BJP government in Punjab until they abide by certain quintessential rules of the game, the least beginning with culling double-speak.
