The district administration Udhampur today discussed necessary arrangements for holy month of Ramzan here today at a meeting of district officers chaired by Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Mr. Rajeev Magotra.SDM Ramnagar, Mr. Dhirendra Sharma, XEN PWD, CAHO Dr K L Gupta, Engineers of PHE, PDD, Dy. SP (DAR), Udhampur, Assistant Director, CA&PD, Tehsildar Ramnagar, BDO Majalta, representatives of health and Administrator Aquaf, Shakeel Shah were present in the meeting.The meeting underlined the need for adequate security, sanitation, medicare facilities, uninterrupted power supply, timely supply of drinking water at all the places of worships during Ramzan.

The officers concerned were directed to conduct regulart markets to keep a check on prices and quality   of eatables and cleanliness especially in and around fruit, meat and chicken shops.Assistant Director, CAPD was asked to ensure proper supply of Ration, sugar, Kerosene oil and LPG Gas  to the people during the holy days.A Joint team consisting of officers of CAPD, Animal Husbandry and Municipality was constituted to check the quality of meat and meat products in the market during the Holy Ramzan period.Meanwhile, arrangements were also finalized for  smooth conduct of 2nd Annual Satsang and Jagrata at holy darbar of Shri Chauntra Mata scheduled to be held June 17.Threadbare discussions were held on arrangements like drinking water, power supply, security, first-aid, transport and sanitation at the Shrine site and enroute.The officers were instructed to put in their best efforts in making available safe drinking water to pilgrims at durbar and enroute also. The PDD was asked to ensure uninterrupted power supply at the shrine by using alternate sources. The Police was asked to ensure security arrangements, while PWD and Rural Development department would start necessary repair on link roads, footpaths and stairs leading to the Shrine.

Meanwhile the Samba administration also discussed the arrangements for the holy month of Ramzan at a meeting of officers held under the chairmanship of Additional District Development Commissioner Samba Vivek Sharma.ADDC directed District administration to put in all possible efforts to ensure adequate facilities at mosques for the devotees who come for prayers. She asked the concerned departments to properly regulate supply of power and drinking water during the holy month. The provision for Medicare, security, cleanliness and other arrangements was also discussed. She asked the concerned departments to ensure that people may not face any inconvenience on account of power and drinking water supply during the holy month.

 The ADDC directed the officers of a Municipal Committees to ensure cleanliness in and around the Mosques particularly Teli Basti Bari-Brahamna, Eidgah Barjani Talab, Shant Talab etc where Eid prayers would be offered. The Executive Engineer PDD and PHE were directed to ensure uninterrupted power and water supply. The Executive Engineer PWD(R&B) was also directed to repair the roads leading to the mosques for the convenience of public, while health department was   directed to make proper arrangements for medicare.

The Police and Traffic authorities were directed to ensure security around the Mosques and better traffic management to avoid any inconvenience to the devotees. The traffic police was asked to check illegal and idle parking around Mosques. The ADDC directed the Legal Metrology and CAPD to conduct regular market inspections to keep a check on overcharging by traders and quality of food stuff sold by them during these auspicious occasions.Among others attended the meeting were SSP Joginder Singh, ADC Pawan Sharma, ACD, CMO, XEN PDD, XEN PHE, XEN PWD, Tehsildars, BDO’s,   Executive Officers, Municipal Committees, besides the officers of various department, Moulvies of mosques and prominent citizens  also attended the meeting.
