District Development Commissioner, Udhampur, Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary while reviewing the arrangements for International Yoga Day called upon the general public of the district for greater participation in the event across different age groups. He asked the youth to take part in the Yoga Day to create better dissemination of benefits of yoga.More than 1500 cadets of NCC belonging to various districts will be part of 2-day Yoga Camp being organised at Government Degree College. Officers from NCC and GDC are actively working for making the event a great success. Capt Srivastava of NCC is supervising the students’ camp. 

Meanwhile another event will be organised in Mini Stadium from 6am on 21st June.Arrangements related to elaborate security, drinking water, uninterrupted power supply, accommodation, sanitation, PA system, logistics and organising were discussed in the meeting chaired by the DDC. A large number of people are expected to participate in Yoga Camps at District and Block level in the district.The DDC called upon field officials to create awareness among masses to make yoga a part life for health and longevity. School education department has been asked for emphasising yoga and exercise as part of extracurricular activities.
