Dozens of Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front activists Friday offered voluntary arrests in the backdrop of its proposed ten day “Jail Bharo program’’.A party spokesman in a statement issued to GNS said that the campaign has been started against the choking of political space and oppressive behavior against peaceful political activities carried by the resistance parties. Among those who voluntarily offered their arrest included chairman JKLF Muhammad Yasin Malik, vice chairman Mushtaq Ajmal, senior leader Javed Ahmad Zargar, Muhammad Haneef Dar, Muhammad Azeem Zargar, Fayaz Ahmad Lone, Ali Mohammad Butt, Irshad Ahmad Nayakoo, Mushtaq Ahmad Wani and Shakir Ahmad Ahangar, the statement said.On the sidelines of the campaign, JKLF Chairman castigated the government for restricting the political space adding that that this is a peaceful protest against thwarting all pro-resistance activities in Kashmir by the state government and this will continue for ten days and . “After that if the situation remains unchanged then the future course of action shall be announced”, he said.
