Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir Dr Asgar Hassan Samoon today had an extensive visit of Panthachowk and reviewed the pace and progress of road widening from Panthachowk to Zewan Crossing. The Divisional Commissioner directed the executing agency to speed up the work and ensure timely completion of the project. Dr. Samoon also reviewed the progress of compensation cases whose business units were affected by road widening. He was informed that out of 11 cases, 9 have been settled and compensation also given to them.Divisional Commissioner directed concerned officers that the shops constructed by R&B department should be allotted to the appropriate persons through draw of lots. During the visit various public deputations met the Divisional Commissioner and apprised him about their problems confronting them. The Divisional Commissioner gave a patient hearing and assured for early redressal for their genuine demands and problems.The Divisional Commissioner was accompanied by the Chief Engineer, R&B, Collector, Additional District Development Commissioner, Srinagar besides other concerned officers.
