Patron of the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) and Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today assured full support and co-operation to the renowned Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev in his proposed crusade, beginning from August 9, 2012, to bring back the black money stashed in foreign banks. Assuring full support to Baba Ramdev who was here today at the Chief Minister’s residence to seek the co-operation of SAD for his movement, Badal said that owing to the wrong policies of Congress the country has been facing a large number of social maladies like unemployment, corruption, poverty, illiteracy and lack of basic civic amenities even after more then 60 years of independence. Addressing the media persons in a joint press conference, the Chief Minister said that despite of the fact that a whopping amount of black money has been hoarded illegally in the foreign banks, the Centre government has never taken any genuine step for bringing it back. He said that the SAD had been time and again impressing upon the Congress led UPA government to immediately bring back the ill gotten money hidden in the foreign banks so that it could be judiciously utilized for funding welfare schemes for millions of poor across the country.  However Badal said that despite of their constant efforts the Central government had so far paid no heed to their demand, due to the reasons best known to them. The Chief Minister said that due to the unflinching commitment of SAD to wipe out corruption from the country they would extend all out support to Baba Ramdev in this noble cause. The Chief Minister assured Baba Ramdev that not only during his agitation but the Akali MPs would also pressurize the Union government in Parliament on this issue by raising it in the coming session of the Parliament. Expressing gratitude to Baba Ramdev for raising this major issue which is concerned with every common man of the country, he said that it was the duty of every Indian to rally solidly behind such movements so that the country could be emerged free from the clutches of social economic and political problems faced by it.  Speaking on the occasion Baba Ramdev thanked the Chief Minister for supporting him in his movement. Yoga Guru said that he had specifically chosen day of August 9 to bring back the black money as on this auspicious day only Mahatma Gandhi had launched the ‘Quit India Movement’ which had forced the British to free India from yoke of foreign Imperialism. He further said that motive of meeting Badal was to seek support from SAD as they plan to force the Union government to bring back the black money by exerting pressure on them right through ‘Members of Gram Panchayat’ to ‘Member of parliament’.
