Minister for Public Works, Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari informed the House that in villages Poshnari and Chaklipora of Shangus Constituency, land compensation is involved in respect of 4-roads sanctioned under PMGSY.Replying to a question by Gulzar Ahmad Wani in LA here today, the Minister informed that for three PMGSY roads viz Chattapal-Dardpora, Narsar-Shanpora and Brimmer-Mattigund, 498 cases of land compensation are involved, out of which 455 cases have been settled at an amount of Rs. 152.48 lakh. He said the requisite compensation has been paid to the land owners in full alongwith additional amount of Rs. 3.65 lakh on account of compensation for structures and trees. He said the remaining 43 cases are yet to be settled and as soon the award is received, the department would take necessary steps for payment of balance amount of compensation involved.

The Minister informed that as far as fourth PMGSY road viz Acchabal-Sombruna Chatapal is concerned, 300 cases are involved out of which one case has been settled. He said the department has advanced an amount of Rs. 5 lakh to the concerned Collector for payment of compensation for this case. He said as soon as, the department receives the award; the compensation for rest of the cases will be paid. He, however, said that the department is pursuing the matter for early settlement of the compensation cases for which the department has allocated an amount of Rs. 299.85 lakh. (GNS)
