The Speaker, Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly Mubarak Gul today directed the Srinagar Municipals Corporation (SMC) to vacate encroachment on both the sides of Eidgah Ground immediately, also asked them to ensure cleanliness in and around its catchment areas.These directions were given by the Speaker during his extensive tour to various areas including Nawakadal of Eidgah Constituency. He also took stock of the various developmental works under execution in these areas.
The Speaker directed the concerned agencies to prepare Detailed Project Report for construction of Fountain at Nawakadal Chowk. He also asked them to speed up the pace of work on construction of Safakadal, Noorbagh and Dalal Mohalla fountains.
Mr. Gul was informed that the construction work on fountain at Ali Masjid is almost complete and will be commissioned soon.
The Speaker directed all the executing agencies to speed up the pace of work on all developmental works under execution in Eidgah Constituency and complete them in a stipulated time frame.
Interacting with the people at different places, the Speaker said the construction work on various micro and macro projects under different sector is apace in Eidgah Constituency. He said on completion of these welfare projects, it will change the Scio-economic condition and life standards of the people of the area.Earlier, the Speaker laid foundation stone of Rs.99 lakh Faqir Kareem Shah Memorial Community Hall at Syed Hamidpora Dalal Mohalla.Later, Mr. Gul visited Sheikh-ul- Alam Community Hall, Nawab Bazar and gave on-the-spot directions to SMC authorities to repair the lighting system of the Hall on priority. He also directed the officers and engineers of Roads and Buildings department to upgrade the link road leading to the Community Hall. He also asked them to display the sign boards.Earlier, the Speaker visited the Asthni Faiz Kashani Alami Robani Marshid Haqani Hazrat Allamie Hafiz Mohammad Yasir, Khanda Bhawan, Nowakadal and paid obeisance there. He prayed for betterment and welfare of the people of the Jammu and Kashmir State.The Speaker directed the Commissioner, SMC Dr. G. N. Qasba to develop the shrine of Hazrat Allamie Hafiz Mohammad Yasir, Khanda Bhawan Nawakadal immediately. He also directed them to ensure sanitation facilities in Srinagar city especially around the mosques, shrines and other religious places. He instructed the Commissioner SMC to press additional men and machinery into service and ensure that no garbage should be visible on road sides.Mr. Gul also directed the R& B department to start construction work on laying of tiles to streets at Khanda Bhawan, Nawakadal.
A team of senior officers and engineers of various departments accompanied the Speaker during his tour.
