Congress president Sonia Gandhi Sunday accused the BJP and the AAP of failing to fulfil their promises to the people and said her party would bring back the "atmosphere of development" in Delhi, if voted to power.Addressing a rally here ahead of the Feb 7 assembly election, Gandhi accused the central government of being anti-farmer and diluting the land acquisition law enacted by the erstwhile United Progressive Alliance government. She said the Manmohan Singh government made strong laws for the people and ensured welfare of government servants."Farmers are struggling to get fertilizers and seeds for their crops. We took many steps to empower the poor of the nation, but today the Modi government is weakening these acts to take away power from the poor," Gandhi said.

Hitting out at the Aam Aadmi Party and its leader Arvind Kejriwal, she said they ran away from their responsibilities."The party we extended our support to couldn't even govern Delhi for one and a half months... ran away from their responsibilities," she said."Who is responsible for this situation in Delhi? It's the party which ran away from its responsibilities as well as those who were imposing their own rule in the name of President's Rule," she added.Gandhi said Delhi needs development and good governance. "My appeal to you is to cast every vote in favour of the Congress to bring back the atmosphere of development."Delhi goes to the polls Feb 7 to elect a 70-member assembly. The votes will be counted Feb 10.
