The Punjab Government would formulate a full-grown policy aimed at maintaining and up keeping of the historical places and monuments in the state. An engineering wing comprising of qualified persons from the civil engineering within the Punjab Heritage and Tourism Board would also be constituted for this purpose. This was revealed here today by  Sarwan Singh Phillaur, Tourism and Cultural Affairs Punjab while addressing a joint meeting of the officers of the departments of Tourism and Cultural Affairs Punjab. Reviewing the progress of the completed and ongoing projects of Tourism department, the Minister said that the projects of Ferozeshah Museum, Ferozeshah Memorial, Misriwal, Sabroan, Jaitto Thana and Shambhu Sarai have been completed and were being handed over to the Cultural Affairs department for further up keep and maintenance. He has asked the officers to accomplish the remaining tasks within a stipulated time frame. He also said that the restoration work of ancestral houses of Lala Lajpat Rai at Jagraon and Shaheed Udham Singh in Sunam has already been taken up by the department on priority. Regarding the completion of prestigious Heritage Village at Amritsar, the Minister said that 65 % construction work has been completed and the remaining work along with the inner decor would be completed by December this year.  Geetika Kalha,Principal Secretary Tourism,   S.S.Channi, Principal Secretary Cultural Affairs ,  Karamjit Singh Sara, Director Tourism and Cultural Affairs along with senior officers of both the departments were present in the meeting.
