Claiming that the Congress worked for the state of Jammu and Kashmir sans any bias, the party president Sonai Gandhi Wednesday said that she salutes the people for taking part in the democratic process.According to KNS correspondent, Sonia said that the relief operations after the floods have been going on at the snail’s pace and that at the time of the earthquake it was much faster during the tenure of then chief minister Ghulam Nabi Azad."It is easy to showcase dreams, but the Congress party actually worked for the development of everyone without any kind of bias and keeping the ground realities in mind," Sonia said while addressing poll rally in South Kashmir.The Congress president appealed to people to maintain the secular character of Jammu and Kashmir and for that she urged them to vote for Congress candidates in assembly elections. A large number of people turned up to hear Sonia in the small village of Renipora, 85 km from Srinagar.Congress leaders Ghulam Nabi Azad, Ambika Soni, Saifuddin Soz and Ghulam Ahmad Mir accompanied Sonia during her visit to the Kashmir Valley.
