Alleging that ‘miscreants sponsored by National conference’ attacked People’s Democratic Party (PDP) office at Khanyar, PDP senior leader and candidate for Khanyar constituency Tuesday said that NC is instigating its activists for stone pelting and attacks on its offices.Addressing public gathering at Khanyar constituency, Aalam said that NC leaders have become unnerve with the popularity of main opposition party. “NC did nothing during its six year tenure. As they know people are rejecting them in ongoing historical assembly elections, they are sponsoring stone pelting and attacks on PDP candidates, office and supporters,” Aalam added.Referring to the attack on PDP Khanyar office on Monday evening, he said that opponents have smelled the defeat and are now acting as frustrated. “NC leaders are now instigating innocent youth for stone pelting. Those youth who worked on ground for the NC are now being pushed to behave like inhuman in society. I want to tell these youth that they are part and parcel of our society and shouldn’t fall prey to the hooliganism of NC,” he added.

He said that elections should be fought in a democratic way. “Every political party and any inpidual have a constitutional right to fight the elections. However, some corrupt politicians here are unhappy seeing the large people participation in the poll process as they know it is time that they would become jobless and have to pack the bags with the entry of honest and sincere politicians in polls,” he added.Aalam said that NC candidates have no courage to confront the PDP candidates on democratically in ongoing polls. “PDP believes in democracy and we are fighting elections on democratic way. We don’t threat anyone or sponsor stone pelting and attacks on our opponents. We believe that our opponents have also every right to reach out people, carry election campaigns, open offices and hold public meetings,” he said.

“However, it is very unfortunate that NC doesn’t believe in rights of others. NC has exploited the people of state, killed youth in 2008 and 2010, sold out state’s natural resources so no morality could be expected from this party,” he added.Aalam said once voted to serve; the PDP will create self sustaining centres of growth and employment-Model Business Villages- in the rural areas across Kashmir which will include Model Apple Village; Model Saffron Village; Model Walnut/Almond Village and Model Craft Village that will go a long way in strengthening the local economy and help in generating respectable employment for the youth.
