Senior Congress leader and former Union Minister Manish Tewari today expressed concern over the National Democratic Alliance government’s attempts to fiddle with the education curriculum in the country. He said, the current curriculum had evolved over a period of several decades incorporating all the facets of Indian, history and culture concerning all sections of the people. “Any attempt aimed at to redraw and redraft it with a particular slant will be unfortunate and may prove counterproductive”, he said during an informal conversation with reporters after inaugurating a specially built room in a local school constructed from the grant provided by him from his MPLAD fund during his tenure as Ludhiana MP.
Tewari maintained that the NDA government at the centre should now start delivering on the promises it has made to the people during the elections. He claimed that the NDA was till now carrying forward only the development agenda set and pursued by the UPA during the previous ten years. “Whether it is about the foreign policy, the economic policy or the domestic issues, the NDA is yet to spell out as what new has it to offer”, he said.Among others present on the occasion included Pawan Dewan, Gurmail Pehalwan, Navneesh Malhotra, Palwinder Taggar, Sunny Kainth, Rohit Pahwa, Principal Poonam, Jaswinder Kaur, Harmeet Kaur, Gurmeet Kaur, Santosh Devi, Harsimran Kaur, MC Gurpreet Singh Khurana, Ex-MC OP Ratt
