JKLF observes anniversaries of Aali Kadal martyrs

To observe anniversaries of Sheikh Abdul Hamid and other martyrs of Aali Kadal, Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) held various programs on Wednesday. In a statement a spokesman of JKLF said besides a remembrance program at martyrs graveyard Eidgah, a blood donation camp was also organized by Hamid blood bank at Abi Guzar. “A A condolence meeting was organized at Mazar I Shuhada Eidgah today in which martyrs of Ali Kadal, including Shaheed-I-Hurriyat Sheikh Abdul Hamid, Shaheed Mushtaq Ahmad Lone, Shaheed Advocate Jamil Chowdhry, Shaheed  Fayaz Ahmad Sheikh, Shaheed Mushtaq Ahmad Kuttay, Shaheed Mustaq Ahmad Khan and  Shaheed Ghulam Mohammad who embraced martyrdom at Aali kadal Srinagar on 19th Nov 1992. The meeting was attended by JKLF vice chairman Showkat Ahmad Bakhshi, vice chairman Mushtaq Ajmal, zonal president Noor Mohammad kalwal, zonal vice president M S Shah, zonal general secretary Sheikh Abdul Rashid, zonal organizer Bashir Kashmiri and many others.”

While speaking on the occasion the JKLF leaders said, “No power can defeat a freedom movement that has been nourished by the sacred blood of our martyrs. Sheikh Hamid and his associates along with another great martyr from Islamabad Shaheed Farooq Ahmad @Pupa Dar sacrificed their lives for the freedom of Jammu Kashmir and anyone who participates in so called elections in any manner actually is betraying these great martyrs,” they said.The leader said that Kashmiris will have to recognize their friends and foes and to |safeguard the sacrifices of these great martyrs and will have to boycott upcoming so called elections.” The leaders while condemning the ongoing crackdown against JKLF said, “Police in a nocturnal raid has arrested JKLF senior leader Mohammad Yasin Bhat . Police also raided vice chairman Showkat Ahmad Bakshi, press in charge Altaf khan, activists Mushtaq Ahmad Wani and Tariq Ahmad.”

“This police terrorism is condemnable and a glaring example of the frustration of rulers and their authorities,” they alleged.Meanwhile, JKLF incarcerated leaders Bashir Ahmad Bhat advocate, Sheikh Mohammad Afzal and engineer Ghulam Rasool Dar Eidi have also paid rich tributes to Sheikh Hamid and others. A delegation led by JKLF district president Anantnag Mohammad Ishaaq Ganai today also visited the residence of Farooq Ahmad Dar @ Pupa Dar and paid rich tributes to him. Another delegation visited various localities of Sonawari including Sadnaar, Naidkhai, Shahgund, Safaporaand Mukhdamyaari and asked people to stay from upcoming elections, the statement said.
