State Secretary, CPI (M) Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami urged India and Pakistan not to indulge in the clash of egos and start talking to each other on all the bilateral issues including Kashmir. He said India and Pakistan must realize that it is the people of Kashmir who are the worst sufferers as the two countries trade accusations as well as gunfire on the borders.Addressing a public rally at Gopalpora, the CPI (M) candidate for Kulgam constituency said that the establishments of India and Pakistan should realize the urgency of making serious efforts to move forward and restart the stalled peace process.  He stressed that the leadership of the two countries cannot afford to put the dialogue process and easing of tension on the back burner.

“All shades of political groups need to be involved while addressing the internal dimension of the vexed Kashmir issue,” he stressed. Tarigami opined that the resolution of Kashmir issue to the satisfaction of all the stake holders and the normalization of relations between India and Pakistan will not only in the best interest of the two countries, but will also prove helpful  for the peace and prosperity of the  entire South Asian region. He termed the remarks of the Union Home Minister regarding AFSPA as unrealistic and said that his party does not consider AFSPA necessary under the changing positive security scenario and will continue to support its revocation.

Referring to the ongoing poll process, Tarigami said that the forthcoming elections are an appropriate opportunity for everybody, especially the youth to participate in the democratic process and have their say in policy making and its implementation. He appealed the youth to come forward and play their vital role in cleansing the present political setup and help in the evolving of healthy, committed, principled and public oriented politics. He said the youth of the state can ensure their socio-political empowerment through greater participation in all democratic processes especially the poll process. Tarigami appealed the gathering to cast their votes in favour of the CPI(M) candidates and the candidates of Awami Mutahida Mahaz(AMM) for a positive change and the formation of a people friendly dispensation in the state.Among others the rally was addressed by senior CPI (M) leaders Mohd Amin Dar, Ghulam Rasool Shiekh and Haji Abdul Ahad. They highlighted the exemplary all round development of Kulgam constituency represented by Mohammad Yousf Tarigami and assured the voters that the development process will speed up if they elect the CPI(M candidates once again.
