My dream to develop Kashmir as a global premier tourist destination: Sajad Lone Health care, education and employment generation top on our agenda.More than 500 workers from NC and PDP today joined People’s Conference at a public meeting organized by Mohd Amin Bhat and sarpanch Nazir Ahmad at Kupwara. The new entrants were welcomed in to the fold of People’s Conference by Sajad Gani Lone, Chairman Jammu and Kashmir People’s Conference, Adv. Bashir Ahmad Dar contesting candidate from Kupwara and other senior party leaders.Speaking on the occasion Sajad Lone said, “ Fed up with the rhetoric’s of the traditional parties, people of the state are yearning for a change. I am pleased to welcome all those who join in to the carvan of change envisioned by the People’s Conference. We are here to make a difference not just by our word but by our deeds to take the pace of the development to the next level. “

About his recent meetings with PM he said, “I underscored the need to seize the recent adversity as an opportunity and work towards the development of Kashmir as one of the most beautiful places in the world and a premiere global tourist destination. In this regard I pointed out the need to leverage the state’s natural assets and resources and to cultivate them towards the development of the state – a forerunner being the tourism sector given Kashmir’s unparalleled scenic beauty.”

Lone also stressed the need of construction of a 6 lane expressway from Srinagar to Kupwara in a bid to bridge the difference of both distance and opportunities and extend the railway link to Chowkibal, Kupwara.Other suggestions included access to opportunities such as Health facilities in the form of Medical College complete with a functioning hospital and Research facilities, educational facilities: Central University etc. He also identified the enormous scope for tourism in the area such as in the little known and presently inaccessible area’s of the Bangus and Lolaab Valleys, LoC tourism and eco-tourism.
