Punjab Govt To Spend Rs.1.81 Crore On Renovation Of Punjab Roadways Workshops

The Board of Directors of PUNBUS has decided to carry out renovation of the workshops of the depots of Punjab Roadways at the cost of Rs. 1.81 Crores.Disclosing this, a spokesperson of the Transport Department said that according to the decisions taken at the meeting, the said work will be executed in two stages. It has been approved that in the first stage Rs. 68 Lacs will be spent while in the 2nd stage a sum of Rs. 1crore 13 lacs wil be spent.The spokesperson also said that in the first stage the building of Chandigarh Depot will be renovated, submersible pump sets will be installed, special repair will be carried out of toilet block, special repair of Amritsar-1 depot will be done and greasing ramp constructed, concrete paver i.e. road will be constructed in Amritsar-2 depot and a platform will be constructed for the purpose of washing buses in Ludhiana depot. In addition to this, special repair of administrative block of Jalandhar-2 depot, special repair of toilet block of Nawanshahr depot will be carried out and also special repair of toilet block of Hoshiarpur depot and repairing of the shed for commuters in Roopnagar Bus stands will be carried out.

The spokesperson further said that in the second stage special repair will be carried out of Ferozepur depot building and shed, boundary wall of Nangal depot will be constructed, building of duty section will be constructed, separate ladies toilet will be constructed in administrative block and other renovation work will be carried out and also painting of administrative block of Hoshiarpur depot will be done and greasing ramp will be constructed in Pathankot depot.
