Srinagar , 30 Oct 2014

Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) on Thursday said that if party comes into power in Jammu and Kashmir it would turn Srinagar into model city.

Senior BJP leader Moti Kaul and the party spokesman Khalid Jehangir, who visited the various of the flood ravaged city, including Rajbagh, Jawhar Nagar, Habba Kadal, Batmaloo, Lal Chowk and other areas, today interacted with shopkeepers and traders and assured them that they would take up the matter of their rehabilitation with the Centre government. Both the leaders assured them all possible help.

Kaul while interacting with the people at different places in the city expressed surprise over the NC-Congress regime “ignoring” Srinagar and not doing “virtually anything” to develop the city.

“If BJP comes into power it would ensure Srinagar is turned into a model city and the people who have suffered huge losses due to floods are given enough support to restart their normal lives,” Kaul told the people. He appealed people to vote for the BJP candidates in the forthcoming assembly elections to get rid of “Family Raaj” and give BJP a chance.“Times have changed and Prime Minister during the past six months has changed the very idea of governance across India. BJP doesn’t believe in rhetoric. It believes in delivering. We hope people will give us a chance to change their destinies,” Jehangir added.People at the different places across the city told the BJP leaders that since the day floods submerged Srinagar none of the political leaders from the ruling coalition have visited them to ascertain how they are coping up with life after the recent deluge.Moti Kaul assured the people that BJP leaders would do whatever they can to mitigate the sufferings of the people.
