Punjab Chief Minister . Parkash Singh Badal today called upon the Brahaman Samaj to play a pro-active role by joining hands with the state government to establish peace and communal harmony  in the state permanently, which would further boost the pace of the development to bring back Punjab at its number one position. Badal was addressing a mammoth gathering during a state-level function on the occasion of Bhagwan Parshuram Jayanti here at Mandi Gobindgarh organized be the Punjab Brahaman Sabha. He said that SAD-BJP government has a secular approach and always worked in unison with all sections of the society. He said that the state government had initiated number of projects like  Golden Temple Entrance Plaza for revitalizing and beautifying the area around Sri Harmandar Sahib, Development of Sri Valmiki temple at Sri Ram Tirath, Monument in the memory of Guru Ravidass ji in district Hoshiarpur and Rope way for Mata Naina Devi Mandir from Sri Anandpur Sahib. Regarding the setting up of a memorial in the memory of Bhagwan Parshuram ji at Khati (Tapo-Sthalli), . Badal said that Rs. One crore had already been given. He also assured that in the forth coming budget more provisions would be made for this prestigious project of Brahaman Sabha. He asked the president of the Sabha . Devi Dyal Prashar to finalize the plan. Later talking to the media persons, the Chief Minister expressed concern over the indications of prices hike of Petrol and Diesel in near future, as given by the Prime Minister at Bathinda during a function.   He said that anti-people policies and undemocratic attitude of the Centre, had imposed such policies on the states, that had smashed the Federal system in the country. Lashing out at the Congress led UPA government, the Chief Minister said that hike in petrol and diesel prices would lead to further inflation. Citing an example, . Badal said that when the Punjab government opposed and asked the Centre to role back the hike in petrol and diesel prices, enhanced by Centre at regular intervals, the Union government advised the state to reduce its VAT on Petroleum items. It was very unfortunate and clearly shows the Centre’s attitude of running away from its responsibilities, added . Badal. Speaking on the occasion Health and Family Welfare Minister . Madan Mohan Mittal asked the Chief Minister to initiate some special efforts to boost the industry of Mandi Gobindgarh, once known for its productivity world over. He also informed that the Health Department had launched an anti-drug campaign and asked public to come forward and report against the drug dealers and agents. Parminder Singh Dhindsa said that Brahaman Sabha could play vital role for bringing out a social change by inculcating   moral and cultural values in our young generation. Earlier, the President Brahaman Sabha Punjab . Devi Dyal Prashar welcomed the Chief Minister, spiritual leaderded Punjab Vidhan Sabha Speaker . Charanjit Singh Atwal, Genral Secretary SAD Prof. Prem Singh Chandumajra, MLA Justice (Retd.) Nirmal Singh, President Brahaman Samaj (Lady wing) s.
