“Remember your flood devastated brethren, relatives, neighbors and families of martyrs on the eve of Eid and try to share their grief and sorrow. We have been taught by our great prophet Mohammad SAW to uphold humanity and human values,” this was stated by the chairman of JKLF Mohammad Yasin Malik while talking to the flood affected people of Barbarshah, Barthana, Mandee, Chinar Bagh and G.B Panth Children hospital.

According to the statement issued to KNS, Malik today visited these areas and distributed rice, sugar, blankets, clothes, spices, cereals and medicine among the affected.

On the occasion Malik said that Kashmir has been shattered by recent floods and our economy has been worst hit. Our markets and business establishments have been razed to ground. Thousands of houses and localities have been turned to rubble. In this grim situation where eye is wet and every heart is broken one cannot celebrate festival of Eid normally. Malik appealed those who have not been affected directly by floods to grab this chance of earning virtues.Today these people by hosting flood affected families, relatives, neighbors and other victims can actually prove their worth and get closer to Allah almighty and repeat the Sunnah of Ansar-I-Madeena who hosted fellow Muslims of Mecca who had been thrown out of their homes by infidels. Yasin sahib said that the day of Eid should be a day of repentance for us when we all should bow before Allah almighty and ask for his forgiveness and compassion.

Yasin said that today out hundreds and thousands are compelled to live under open skies as their houses have been damaged by floods. Goods worth billions of dollars and many lives have been lost and that is why Kashmiri nation is in a state of national grief and mourning, and it is our religious, moral, human and national duty to show magnanimity, austerity, seriousness and solidity and celebrate Eid with austerity.

Yasin sahib also visited G.B.Panth children hospital Sonawar and handed over important medicines related to children to the authorities. This medicine was donated or collected from many people in Kashmir and outside and was handed over to the hospital authorities for the welfare of flood hit poor people.

Meanwhile JKLF has paid rich tributes to martyr Showkat Ahmad who embraced martyrdom recently. A delegation of JKLF led by district president Pulwama visited Awantipora and expressed rich tributes to the great martyr and solidarity with his bereaved families. (KNS)
