Congress MLA from Inderwal, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori has urged the government to start the 2nd phase of Rajiv Gandhi Grameen Vidyutikaran Yojana (RGGVY) and to complete the tendering process before model code of conduct to cater to the leftover un-electrified villages in the state including those of Erstwhile Doda district so that works could be carried out even during the period of Assembly Elections. He said even Public Undertaking Committee (PUC) while reviewing the RGGVY projects in Kishtwar and Doda was in consensus over prioritizing the villages to be covered under RGGVY Phase 2nd, selecting those deserving villages first, after proper verification, which are not covered under RGGVY scheme till date.Saroori urged the government to immediately constitute a State Level Monitoring Committee under the Chairmanship of Principal Secretary PDD, at pisional level and District Level to be headed by the respective pisional Commissioners and Deputy Commissioners to ensure that project implementation starts at the earliest.

He said people from many areas of Inderwal constituency have complaints regarding damaged transformers related to RGGVY-I. He expressed concern over the non-replacement of large number of damaged transformers installed under the RGGVY in the Block Bhalessa, Thathri, Drabshallah, Kishtwar, Chatroo and other blocks of District Kishtwar and Doda. He said that the transformers got damaged due to excessive load on the transformers than their load carrying capacity. Mr. Saroori urged the concerned Executive Engineers to replace the damaged transformers with new transformers compatible with the electric load of the area electrically connected to the transformer, within one month.

Later Mr. Saroori also asked DIG (Doda– Kishtwar Range), Ashkoor Wani, SSP Doda Sharief Cauhan, SP Kishtwar Sanjay Kumar Kotwal to keep a tight vigil on the situation in Kishtwar and other areas of Chenab Valley” to avoid repetition of “any type of violence” there on the occasions of “Eid-ul-Fitr”.He has urged the both the communities not hurt the religious sentiments of each other and urged that extraordinary security arrangements should be put in place in these areas to ensure peaceful celebration of the festival.Saroori also asked the pisional Administrations of Kishtwar and Doda to provide the people with the basic amenities and ensure availability of essentials including rice, sugar, atta, K-oil and LPG cylinders in the district Kishtwar and Doda.

Telephonically he directed the officers of PDD and PHE for ensuring uninterrupted electricity and water supply, besides asked the Municipal Committees of Thathri, Kishtwar to maintain cleanliness in and around the Masjids and shrines.
