Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today directed the authorities of Dayanand Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) Ludhiana to provide free treatment to the noted Punjabi Sufi Singer Barkat Sidhu, who is critically ill due to Cancer and is undergoing treatment in DMCH.Disclosing this here today a spokesperson of the Chief Minister's office said that Mr. Badal after taking cognizance of the news reports in a section of press immediately called up the doctor attending on him this morning to inquire about his wellbeing. He also assured of all possible help and support to the icon of Sufi style of Singing in this hour of crisis, adding he said that the state govt. would bear the entire cost on his treatment. The Chief Minister also prayed to the Almighty for his speedy recovery.
