Terming the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) as a ‘Pack of cards’, the Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today said that due to the lack of any ideological commitment and concrete program the party was on the verge of disintegration.Interacting with the media persons on the sidelines of the Sangat Darshan program of the Talwandi Sabo assembly segment here today, the Chief Minister said that the AAP had befooled the people by showing them green pastures but when they were mandated to serve the people in Delhi its leadership ran away from their responsibility. He said that the AAP was only a ‘short term phenomenon’ and the disenchantment amongst its key leaders has proved that the days of this party were numbered. “The fact that key leaders of AAP have resigned from their party posts reflects that the base of this party is continuously eroding” added Badal.Batting for the cheap prices of diesel in the country, the Chief Minister said that the Diesel must be included in the list of essential commodities as it would directly help in reducing the inflation across the country. He said that Diesel was a catalyst for growth in the agriculture and transport sector adding that by lowering its prices a huge relief could be given to the countrymen. Mr. Badal said that he would take up this matter with the Union government, once the newly appointed Ministers settle down for work.

Earlier addressing the gatherings during the Sangat Darshan program in Jeevan Singh Wala, Naseebpura, Kot Bakhtu, Bangi Ruldu and other villages, the Chief Minister, while slamming the Congress party for its anti-people policies, said that by routing the Congress party from the Centre, the countrymen have punished it for its sins. He said that the Congress party has always misled the people by raising hollow slogans where as it was a matter of fact that due to its wrong policies the nation was today facing a large number of social maladies like unemployment, corruption, illiteracy and others. Mr. Badal said that in last one decade of its misrule the Congress led UPA government had arbitrarily framed the policies while sitting in New Delhi as result of which the woes of the people have aggravated. The Chief Minister said that due to aristocratic attitude of Congress leaders the country has been ruined despite of being blessed with a bounty of natural resources. Mr. Badal said that during their government the Congress leaders have distanced themselves from people and acted like ‘Maharajas’ due to which the general masses had suffered. “Neither Mrs. Sonia Gandhi nor Mr. Rahul Gandhi were aware of the village life so no one can expect that they will formulate any policy for the welfare of rural masses” he added.

The Chief Minister said that though due to decade long misrule of UPA the country has lagged behind in many fields but with the formation of NDA government at centre the worst phase of the country was now over. He expressed hope that under the dynamic and able leadership of Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi the country would soon reach at the zenith of its glory. Mr. Badal said that as a key ally of NDA, the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) would strive hard to benefit the farmers of the state by developing the agriculture and its allied sector.

Recalling the glorious history of the SAD in spearheading the campaigns for safeguarding the interests of the state, the Chief Minister vowed that with the active support and cooperation of the Punjabis, Akali Dal would continue to serve the state with full zeal and commitment. Thanking the people for electing Mrs. Harsimrat Kaur Badal as the Lok Sabha MP, Mr. Badal said that due to support of the people Mrs. Badal was a key member of Mr. Modi’s Cabinet. The Chief Minister was accompanied by former MLA Mr. Jeet Mohinder Singh Sidhu, senior Akali leader Mr. Amarjeet Singh Sidhu (IAS Retd.) and his Special Principal Secretary Mr. KJS Cheema.
