The Punjab Government has revised the minimum wages of Labourers of various categories with effect from 1st March, 2013.Disclosing this today, Mr. Surjit Kumar Jayani said that the wages of the labourers working in various Factories, offices and Brick kilns have been reviesed. He said that the wages of Un skiled labourers like Chowkidaar, Peon, Helpers have been revised from Rs. 5200 to Rs. 5695 Per month. Likewise the wages of Semi- Skiled workers have been revised from Rs. 5980 to Rs. 6475 Per month. He said that the Skilled worker like Black smith and Electrician having five year experience on un skilled post would get minimum Rs. 7372 Per month instead of Rs. 6877 and wages of high skilled like Graduate, technical degree holder, crain driver, truck driver has been revised from Rs. 7909 to Rs. 8404.

jayani said that the wages of category-A staff like post graduate, MBA has been revised has been revised from Rs. 10370 to Rs. 10865, category-B like graduate has been revised from Rs. 8700 to Rs. 9195, category-C staff like under graduate has been revised from Rs. 7200 to Rs. 7695 and category-D staff like Matriculate has been revised from Rs. 6000 to Rs. 6495 per month.Mr. Jayani further said that brick pathera would get Rs. 472.65 For thousand bricks, whereas Rs. 530.75 for thousand Tiles. He said that brick chunai wala would be paid Rs. 34.63, for loading on Rehra Rs. 177.03, for truck/trolley loading/unloading Rs. 152.13 and Keri wala would get minimum wages Rs. 29.60 per thousand bricks.He further said that Punjab Government is all set to build labour sheds & Night Shelters in different parts of the state for the construction workers with the cost of Rs. 10 crore in the financial year 2013-14.
