Aryans Group of Colleges (AGC) organized annual cultural extravaganza “Roshaan…… Enlightening the world” at the Punjab Kala Bhawan, Sector 16, Chandigarh today. Mrs.Usha R Sharma, IAS, Commissioner, Technical Education, Punjab was the Chief Guest on the occasion. Dr. Anshu Kataria, Chairman, Aryans Group presided over the function. Around 500 B.Tech, MBA, BBA, BCA & B.Ed students of Aryans Group participated in the colorful cultural items.

Students of Aryans Group presented a colorful cultural programme which included bhangra, giddha, group dances, western dance, Punjabi dance, fusion, skits, mime, Bollywood Style, folk dance, solo songs, solo dance, etc. Many students were honored for their achievements in academics, sports, cultural & extracurricular activities.  Neetika (MBA), Iram (BBA) & Harbir Singh (B.Ed) were adjudged the best students. 

The function commenced with the lamp lighting ceremony by the Chief Guest followed by Devotional Sai Song by Chamanjeet & group. In his inaugural speech, Mrs. Sharma said that such events are necessary in the professional institutions as they instill confidence and sense of responsibility in the students. Academics and Cultural activities always go side by side. Cultural activities play important role in order to reduce the stress of the students, she added. Dr. Anshu Kataria said that besides studies, extra co-curricular activities are equally important. They help in the overall development of the students. 

It is to be mentioned that various cultural activities performed by students like SRK Special performed by Faaiz and group performed while Avneet & Group presented a dance on ‘Kolaveri D’. Girls Bhangra under the leadership of Iram and party enthralled the audience, Kashmiri dance by Jahangir and group, Medley Comedy by Pawan brought the audience onto their heels. Mime dance presented by Sukanto and Group, was the centre of attraction.

On the other hand, Punjabi group dance by Geeta & group, Punjabi Dance Boys by amanpreet & group, Rajasthani folk  by Kamini  & group, Fusion by Pooja and Party by Vikas & group ,comedy fusion by kshitiz & group, Hip Hop by Neeraj & group, dance Performance on ‘Desi Boys’ by Deepak & party brought the audience to their toes. The audience was on their toes during the Punjabi dance “Sab toh Sohna Bhangra” under the leadership of Gurvinder where as Sumandeep & Group Presented “Beautiful Giddha” & many others.

Also present on the occasion were Prof. D. C. Kataria, Vice- Chairman, Aryans Group; Mrs. Rajni Kataria, Treasurer, Aryans Group; Dr. (Mrs.) Parveen Kataria, Director General, Aryans Group; Dr.Manjula Kataria, Principal, Aryans College of Education; Dr. P B Mahapatra, Director, Aryans College of Engineering; Prof K K Mangla; Dr.A S Balgir; Mr.Chandrma Singh, Registrar and many others.
