Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, Sanjeev Verma, convened a conference with PRIs and members of Municipal Committee (MC) at Ramban to assess their demands  and problems for early redressel.District Development Commissioner, Nazim Zai Khan,   SSP, Anita Sharma, SSP, Traffic J.S Johar,   Director Health Jammu, ADDC,  ADC, Dr. Basharat Hussain, Superintendent Engineers  of PDD and PWD, ACR, President MC Ramban, district and sectoral officers of various departments besides  PRIs and members of MC Ramban attended the meeting.The Div Com sanctioned Skill Development Centre for the courses of   Beautification, Tailoring and Embroidery  for various panchayats including Gandhari, Sawani and Chachwa to boost skill development among the youth especially women folk. He directed the ACD to identify  location in Thatharka for establishing common facility centre cum collection and sale point so that locals can sell their products in a hassle free manner.Responding to  the issue of delay in road construction work due to non availability of funds,   Div Com directed the Executive Engineers of PWD and PMGSY to project such works  including Kanga- Bathni, Jamia Masjid to Seripora, Gool- Dharam and Kunfer-Sawani road under languishing project scheme. The Div Com discussed all the issues,  raised by the locals, with senior officers of the concerned departments led by the DDC.

 He directed the CEO to submit school wise sanctioned strength and list of teachers’ posted there besides preparing proposal for construction of student hostel and staff  quarters at Kumet. He also asked him for initiating repair work on local school of Seripora and High School Gam.The PDD was directed to submit DPR regarding  installation of power line for Panchayat Parnot besides providing transformer to panchayat Jatgali and Kabi.Executive Engineer, TLMD was directed to shift HT-LT line  form the Primary School, Bhateen. The ACD was directed to erect a prefabricated shed in Panchayat Sawani.The Div Com asked PHE to ensure installation of hand  pump at Government Higher Secondary School, Sangaldan. He also asked the concerned for conducting a survey regarding status of water supply schemes in Ramban  town. National Highway Authority of India was directed to complete repair work on national highway near JK Bank Ramban.Meanwhile, DDC Ramban apprised of various  initiatives launched by the district administration and stressed upon the PRIs to come forward and participate actively in these initiatives.Most of the issues particularly  related to infrastructure were resolved on the spot.The major issues highlighted by the PRIs and civic body members  included   early completion of under construction  PMGSY and PWD roads,  implementation of the flagship programmes including PMAY, PMUY, drinking water and power supply besides meeting the shortage of staff in  schools and hospital, land compensation, up gradation of schools, opening of new PHC,   installation of street lights,blacktopping of roads, compensation for horticulture  and agriculture losses, transport facility for students, issuance of ration cards and golden card to left out people.The Div Com assured the public that their genuine  demands would be fulfilled in a time frame manner.
