The District Development Commissioner (DDC), Budgam, Tariq Hussain Ganai today directed concerned to create a massive awareness about flagship programmes and schemes among people.He said this during a meeting held to review the functioning of Education, Youth Services and Sports, Sheep, Animal Husbandry and Transport departments in the district.The meeting was attended by ADC Budgam, Mushtaq Ahmad Simnani, ACR Zaffar Shawl, CEO, District Officers of Sheep, Animal Husbandry, DYSS Officer and concerned officials.Reviewing the functioning of Education Department, the DDC stressed upon imparting quality education, cent percent attendance, clubbing of schools without causing any inconveniences to education system and locals. He asked concerned to ensure all basic facilities are provided to the students at all schools including adequate sports related infrastructure for co-curricular activities. The DDC was also briefed about the rationalization of staff, salary, and upgradation of schools.  

During the meeting, the DDC was apprised about the calendar of activities framed. He instructed the concerned to identify local talent and provide platform to the youth to showcase their talent.While reviewing functioning of Sheep and Animal Husbandry, the DDC stressed upon more coverage and sponsoring of cases under KCC, DEDS and NLM scheme. The meeting was informed that under Mini Sheep Farm scheme, an amount of Rs 60,000 is provided as subsidy by the department. The DDC directed the concerned to provide all logistic, medicinal and technical support to the breeders to ensure enhancement in cattle, sheep and milk production.During the meeting, the DDC instructed ARTO to take stringent action against the overloading. He directed concerned to ensure traffic norms are implemented in letter and spirit. He was informed that land of 229 kanals have been handed over to Motor Vehicle department for the establishment of Institute of Driving Training and Research/ Inspection and Certification Centre at Estate Zoorigund near SIDCO in Budgam.
