On the directives of Deputy Commissioner SAS Nagar Girish Dayalan, Larson & Toubro (L&T) has started construction work in tandem on Elevated road under the Kharar Flyover Project. The first phase of this road project is expected to be completed in 15 days. The project includes 3-km elevated road from the Balongi light point to Sunny Enclave and to the BSNL building in Kharar.Deputy Commissioner Mr. Dayalan apprised that this is the combined endeavour of all the departments of District Administration to streamline the traffic system on Chandigarh-Kharar road. ''We are putting our best efforts to complete this road as soon as possible to minimise the inconvenience faced by people," he added. Spokesperson of the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Office stated that, Mr. Dayalan had directed the NHAI and L&T to make the road under the Kharar flyover motorable within 15 days. He had also directed Superintendent of Police (traffic), to divert heavy vehicles on alternative routes from where the road is being constructed.Spokesperson further said that the SDM Kharar Vinod Bansal regulary reviewing the construction work and he is also working with NHAI and L&T in tandem to remove all the hindrances to operational this road in stipulated time frame. During the visit of the construction site, Mr. Bansal instructed the Municipal Council officials to make proper arrangements for drainage and clean the sewerage in two days under the flyover.SDM told that traffic diversion plan is ready to ease out the traffic congestion on Chandigarh-Kharar road and alternate routes have also been made for heavy vehicles.
