By clinching 87 Gold, 45 Silver and 32 Bronze Medals, Engineering students of Chandigarh Engineering College, CGC Landran have claimed overall runner up trophy in the IKGPTU Inter College Men & Women Tournament 2018-19.  The students have been granted a scholarship worth Rs. 1 Lakh by Punjab Technical University. 30 students from CGC Landran were further shortlisted to participate in All India Inter-University and North Zone Intervarsity Tournament 2018-19. Various category of games included Table Tennis, Chess, Badminton, Basketball, Cross Country, Handball, Football, Weightlifting, Powerlifting, Best Physique, Volleyball and Athletics. Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College, Ludhiana lifted the overall trophy while Daviet, Jalandhar grabbed 2nd Runner-up position.While briefing about the achievements of the students Kamaldeep Singh, Sports official, CGC Landran said, “Our students have yet again made us proud by grabbing 1st place in 12 assorted categories of event out of 18 with their sheer dedication and commitment. Basketball captain Jasmeet Kaur, Chess captain Princedeep, Nishant (Badminton), Somil Sharma (Handball) and others from Chandigarh Engineering College steered their teams in high spirits”.
