DEO Kathua flags-off SVEEP van to spread voter awareness

District Election Officer Kathua, Vikas Kundal, today flagged-off ‘Matdan Mahotsav Van’ to spread mass awareness about the importance of casting vote across the district under Systematic Voter’s Education and Electoral Participation programme.ADDC, Dr. Shubra Sharma, ADC, Ghanshyam Singh, Nodal Officer for SVEEP, Amar Jyoti Raina, Deputy DEO, Ashwani Kumar, ENT, Abdul Latif, election staff and other officers were also present at the launch of the mobile van campaign.‘Matdan Mahotsav Van’ is aimed at generating awareness among the masses regarding the importance of vote and motivating them to participate in large numbers in the upcoming parliamentary elections.“From today onwards, the mobile van will go around different parts of Kathua district and disseminate awareness regarding the voters’ rights. It will also spread awareness by informing, educating, motivating and facilitating voters to exercise their franchise in the upcoming elections,” the DEO said.
