One person was arrested during a checkpoint at Krankshivan Sopore following an action against those involved in drug peddling in North Kashmir.One person identified as Aamir Akbar Mir son of Mohammad Akbar Mir resident of Mumkak Sopore arrested for the drug offences has been taken to Police Station Tarzoo where he remains in custody.Officers at the checkpoint have seized 50 bottles of Maxcoff, Codeine P Coff-T and Codeine Apdyl-T from his possession.Case FIR No 18/2019 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Tarzoo.Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law.Our consistent actions against drug peddlers should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep your society free from the scourge of drug menace.
