Regional Transport Authority (RTA)-cum- Assistant Returning Officer Jalandhar Cantonment, Dr Nayyan Jassal on Friday held a meeting with more than 20 sector officers of the police department to finalize vulnerability mapping of the polling booths in the constituency.Presiding over the meeting, Dr Jassal said that the detailed brainstorming was done regarding parole jumpers, history-sheeters, bail jumpers, gangsters, trouble mongers which can intimidate the voters, can disturb law and order, or the voters might be bribed through gifts, alcohol or by other means.ARO cantonment said that the weapon holders have already been started submitting the weapons with the police stations and strict action will be taken against those who will not submit the weapon before the last date. She said that the history of previous elections were also checked and discussed and police officials were asked to conduct the field visits to give a ground level report. She said that the police officials were briefed about the steps which will be taken to ensure free, fair and transparent elections.Dr Jassal informed that a report will be sent to the district election officer (DEO) Mr Varinder Kumar Sharma concerning vulnerability mapping. She said that the district administration is committed to ensuring peaceful completion of the election process and no one will be allowed to disturb the law and order in the district. On the occasion, ACP Cantonment Mr Ravinder Singh, ACP Model Town Mr Dharampal and others were present.
