Welcoming the valiant action of Indian Air Force in the Pakistan Occupied Kashmir, Cooperation Minister Punjab Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa today said that if the Government of India (GoI) had allowed a similar action earlier then it could have saved many precious lives of our young soldiers.Interacting with the media persons after inauguration of dry milk powder plant and laying foundation stone of the Fermentation Plant here today, the Minister, accompanied by Lok Sabha MP Chaudhary Santokh Singh and MLA Mr. Bawa Henry, the Minister questioned the timing of this strike. He said that if the action could be taken today then why the Government of India waited for martyrdom of the brave soldiers. Mr. Randhawa said that had the Government not waited for elections to conduct this strike then several previous lives of our soldiers could have been saved.Replying to another query, the Minister said that the state government was committed to safeguard the interests of the farmers by giving them full compensation for land being acquired for the Kartarpur corridor. He said that the Corridor would be completed at every cost and no one would be allowed to create any sort of obstacle in the project. Mr. Randhawa also said that any Sikh who tries to scuttle this project was the biggest traitor of the community.Training guns against the Badal clan, the Minister said that Badals have ditched the Sikh community through their misdeeds. He said that the Akalis would definitely go behind the bars for their sins. Mr. Randhawa said that Akalis have misused religion for their vested political motives adding that people would definitely teach a lesson to them.Later on addressing the gathering during a function for profit distribution to the societies, the Minister underscored the need for making cooperation movement a mass movement. He said that this movement needs to be strengthened for safeguarding the interests of the farming community in the state. 

Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa said that with the active support and cooperation of people the department would be made leading cooperative in the country.Evoking the example of Mai Bhago Ji, the Minister urged the women milk producers to check the supply of spurious milk for well being of younger generations. He said that the need of hour was to check sale of adulterated milk and supply of drugs to save our youth. Mr. Randhawa said that the state government was making concerted efforts for channelizing the unbounded energy of youth in a positive direction.The Minister also announced to enhance rate given to producers by Rs 10 per fat in the Doaba region from the upcoming month. He also announced to augment the capacity of Mehatpur Sugar Mill very soon. Mr. Randhawa also said that the state government was committed for well being of the sugarcane and potato cultivators of the region. Earlier in his address, the Lok Sabha MP Chaudhary Santokh Singh lauded the Minister for taking revolutionary steps to strengthen the cooperative movement in the state. He said that the need of the hour was to safeguard the interests of the potato and sugarcane cultivators of the region. Chaudhary Santokh Singh also hailed the Minister for giving two new ambitious projects to the city. In his impressive address MLA Mr. Avtar Singh (Bawa) Henry flagged the problems being faced by the milk producers of the region. He also sought the intervention of Minister for bailing out the potato and sugarcane cultivators of the region. Mr. Henry also asked the Minister to augment the capacity of Bhogpur, Mehatpur and Nakodar Sugar Mills so that farmers could be benefitted from it. On the occasion Chairman Markfed Mr. Amarjit Singh Samra , Joint Director Cooperative Mr. Bhupinder Singh Walia, Sub Divisional Magistrate Mr. Sanjiv Sharma, Additional Deputy Manager MILKFED Captain Karnail Singh , General Manager Mr. Raj Kumar, Manager Production Mr. SP Singh, Manager (HR) Mr. Amarjit Singh, Manager Quality Mr. Subodh Kumar, Manager Procurement Mr. AK Mishra and others were also present.
