Advisor to Governor, K Vijay Kumar today reviewed the on-going development works under Industry and Health sectors in this border district here at a meeting.Deputy Commissioner, Sushma Chauhan, Chairman State Pollution Control Board, Superintendent of Police Samba besides heads of line departments attended the meeting.The Advisor was apprised about the on-going works including sewerage treatment plant, solid and waste management, transport, storage, distribution and supply (TSDS) and others issues.He called for putting in effective mechanism for pollution control in the district especially at the industrial estates. He said plantation, waste management and proper planning should be put in place for sustainable growth.The Chairman Pollution Control Board briefed the Advisor about the steps taken up by Department for pollution control in Samba.Later, Kumar reviewed the status of Accidental Hospital Ghagwal and newly-sanctioned District Hospital Samba. District Chief Medical Officer Rajinder Samyal gave a brief account of the functioning of the hospitals in the district along with requirement of staff and other facilitates.
The Advisor assured full support to the district administration in carrying out its developmental works and exhorted upon the officers to work with added zeal and zest.A delegation of industrialists presented their demands to the Advisor and shared the working of their industrial units in light of newly sanctioned Industrial Policy. He gave them a patient hearing and assured them that all their genuine demands will be looked into.Advisor Kumar later visited AIIMS site in Vijaypur and enquired about pace of development works and the status of rehabilitation of relocated families. Deputy Commissioner Samba apprised the Advisor about work on the AIIMS building and other related aspects of the prestigious project.
