District Development Commissioner Showkat Aijaz Bhat, today chaired a meeting of the concerned officers and executing agencies to review the progress on execution of several projects and schemes under power sector.The DDC took a comprehensive review of schemes viz Saubhagya, UJALA, PMDP, Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana and directed the concerned for achieving 100% target of electrification of all households under Saubhagya.It was informed in the meeting that five languishing power projects have been sanctioned and work would be started soon.The DDC fixed the time line for completion of ongoing power projects in the district asking the executing agencies to further step up their efforts to achieve the set targets. He reviewed the progress on shifting of HT towers coming in the alignment of Highway four-lane project and other utilities including their reinstallation. He directed concerned department to take up shifting of tower work in time to avoid any power breakdown and untoward incident besides ensuring immediate protection of vulnerable towers. He also reviewed the progress status receiving stations and proposed augmentation.
The DDC stressed upon the officers to strengthen the existing LT, HT network besides argumentation of sub stations which are overloaded at the earliest.The DDC was apprised regarding the status of establishment of transformer bank and workshop in Banihal and Batote.The meeting also discussed the issue of repairement of damaged transformers in the district and it was impressed upon PDD that all the damaged transformers should be repaired at the earliest on first come service basis and be installed at their respective locations immediately.The meeting was informed that after the argumentation of Ramban Maitra Grid Station the overall voltage and power scenario shall be improved a lot. He directed the officers of PDD department to conduct frequent checking in their areas to control and eradicate the menace of Power theft besides restoring the damaged power supply lines on priority.
