Hon’ble Mr. Justice Swatanter Kumar, Former Judge, Supreme Court of India & Former Chairperson, National Green Tribunal today inaugurated Zonal Youth Fest of IKG-PTU, Jalandhar at Aryans Group of Colleges, Rajpura, Near Chandigarh. Over 5000 students of around 25 Colleges falling under 10 districts of west Zone of IKG-PTU, Jalandhar participated in various cultural activities of Youth Festival. Dr. Anshu Kataria, Chairman, Aryans Group presided over the function.Renowned Punjabi Singer Shivjot also enthralled the audience on the inaugural ceremony of 2 days Youth fest on his hit tracks Palazzo, Teri Meri Tutju, Ford Vs Ford etc.Mr. Justice Swatanter Kumar while congratulating all the students of participating Colleges said that Youth is the backbone of the Society and the Nation and Education with entertainment is the source to enlighten and direct the youth for the right path.Mr. Justice Swatanter Kumar further added that Punjab being the agricultural State should be more concerned about the Environment. Since stubble burning in Punjab was the major issue in last years which can be controlled by spreading awareness in the farmers through youth.
Dr. Anshu Kataria while speaking on the occasion thanked IKG-PTU for allotting Youth fest to Aryans. He further said that Aryans would do it's best to make the fest successful. Under the Campaign Making Punjab Drug Free, Kataria appealed all the students to Be a Hero without Heroine (Drug).First Day of youth festival observed various Cultural and Non Cultural activities including Giddha, International Folk Dance, Classical Dance, Group Shabad, Bhajan, Group Song Indian, Vaar Singing, Western Vocal Solo, Western Group Song, Creative writing, Quiz, Clay Modeling, Collage Making, Cartooning, On the spot Painting etc.DSP, Rajpura, Sh. Sameer Sharma, Coordinator, Youth Affairs, IKG-PTU; Prof. A.P Jain, Dean, Aryans Group; Prof. B.S Sidhu, Director, Aryans Group; Dr. Raman Rani Gupta, Principal, Aryans Group; Dr. Surinder Sharma, Retd, Professor, Panjab University etc were also present on the occasion.
