Under the patronage of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, HE Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al-Thani inaugurated the 12th edition of International Exhibition of Internal Security and Civil Defense (Milipol Qatar 2018) at Doha Exhibition and Convention Center (DECC) today.The opening ceremony was attended by a number of Their Excellencies the Ministers and high-ranking officials in the State, and the country's guests of ministers and police chiefs from a number of brotherly and friendly countries, as well as Their Excellencies Ambassadors accredited to the State and representatives of the exhibiting companies.Following the opening the ceremony, HE the Prime Minister and Interior Minister toured the exhibition's various pavilions and sections, where he was briefed on the latest equipment and devices, and innovative services in the field of homeland security and civil defense. HE the Prime Minister and Interior Minister listened to an explanation about their functions and sophisticated technologies, and the integration of security systems in terms of strengthening internal security, prevention of and protection against different crimes.Milipol Qatar 2018 is attended by 219 exhibitors from 24 countries. Defence specialists from Qatar, France, Turkey, Bulgaria, China, Denmark, Italy, Germany, Spain, Morocco, UK, and USA, as well as 7 new countries that include Greece, India, Latvia, Morocco, Russia, Slovenia and Switzerland will be bringing in their innovations to Qatar in various fields such as public security, defence solutions and equipment, telecom security and technologies, firefighting, radiation detection, emergency equipment, law enforcement products, communications software, airports security systems and more.Organized by the Ministry of Interior (MOI) of the State of Qatar and the French-based Comexposium Security, Milipol Qatar includes five country pavilions – including UK, Germany, Italy, France and North America with 90 exhibitors from Qatar– with a 30% space bigger than in 2016.

Prime Minister Meets Interior Ministers, Heads of Delegations Prticipating in Milipol Qatar 2018

HE Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al-Thani met here today with a number of ministers of interior and heads of delegations participating in the 12th edition of International Exhibition of Internal Security and Civil Defense (Milipol Qatar 2018) being held at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center.His Excellency met HE Minister of Interior of the Sultanate of Oman SayyidHamoud bin Faisal Al-Busaidi, HE Minister of State, attached to the Minister of the Interior of the French Republic Laurent Nunez, HE Minister of Interior and Local Communities of the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria Noureddine Bedoui, HE Minister of Interior of the Republic of the Sudan Dr Ahmed Bilal Osman, HE Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kyrgyzstan Major General KashkarDzhunushaliev, and HE Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Belarus Igor Shunevich.His Excellency also met with Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior in Kuwait Lieutenant General Essam Salem Al Nahham, HE Director General of National Security of the Kingdom of Morocco  Abdul Latif Al-Hamoushi, HE Director of National Police of the Republic of Turkey CelalUzunkaya, HE Director general of equipment finance department of the Ministry of Public Security of the People's Republic of China Song Wei, and HE State Secretary of the Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Serbia BiljanaIvkovic-Popovic.The meetings reviewed cooperation ties between the State of Qatar and their respective countries, in addition to discussing a number of issues of common concern.

Ministers Laud Milipol Qatar 2018

HE Ahmed Bilal Osman, Minister of Interior of Sudan, underlined the international and regional importance of the Milipol Qatar Exhibition, pointing out that it was an important platform for presenting the latest developments in modern technology in the field of internal security and civil defense.

It is also an important forum for the exchange of experiences with specialists, and an opportunity to strengthen and develop cooperation relations between internal security leaders. He emphasized the keenness of the Sudanese Ministry of Interior to place its presence in Milipol Qatar and to see the latest internal security techniques included in the exhibition.He said that Milipol Qatar is witnessing a remarkable development from one edition to another, in terms of increasing the number of participating countries and the quality of the technologies presented. He pointed to the aspiration of the Sudanese delegation to hold meetings with heads and members of sisterly and friendly countries on the sidelines of the exhibition to develop bilateral relations.

Noureddine Bedoui, Minister of Interior, Algiers

Noureddine Bedoui, Minister of Interior, Algiers said that his participation in the inauguration of the Milipol Qatar 2018 exhibition was an opportunity to meet H.E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior of Qatar, and convey him  the greetings of H.E Ahmed Ouyahia, the Prime Minister of the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria. The meeting was also an opportunity to evaluate and activate the security agreement signed between the two countries in 2016 to exchange information and experience, as there is consensus between the two countries on the positive evaluation of the implementation of the Convention. He added that Algeria has a rich experience especially in the fight against terrorism. Our participation today in the Milipol Qatar exhibition reflects Algeria's will to coordinate efforts, exchange information to combat terrorism and the various security challenges facing the world."

HE Minister of State, attached to the Minister of the Interior of the French Republic Laurent Nunez 

“The cooperation between Qatar and France is cooperation in the field of risk analysis and analysis of aspects that may benefit both countries. The French-Qatari cooperation in the field of security is primarily practical cooperation, which involves the exchange of skills and the exchange of training between the two sides in order to support capacities".He added that he has esteemed the agreement signed at the end of 2017 between Qatar and France, which is a partnership memorandum, which further strengthened the rapprochement between Qatar and France, as well as the Qatari presence in the general convention on combating terrorism. This marks the beginning of the State of Qatar's move forward in this format.Mr.Rafail Mirzayev, First Deputy Minister of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Azerbaijanunderscored the depth of relations between the Ministries of Interior in the two friendly countries through exchange of experiences. He said that attending this great event provides opportunities to meet with officials of the Ministry of Interior and discuss common issues related to ensuring the public safety of the community.Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan Mr. OrujZalovexpressed great appreciation for the excellent organization of the Milipol Qatar, and the presence of a large number of exhibitors of the latest technologies in the field of internal security and public safety.HE State Secretary of the Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Serbia BiljanaIvkovic-Popovic affirmed that the two friendly countries have good relations, and this was a good opportunity to thank the Ministry of Interior for this kind invitation, which will certainly contribute to strengthening future relations.

Minister of State for Interior Shehryar Khan Afridi, Pakistan


HE Shahriar Khan Afridi, Minister of State for Interior of Pakistan, expressed his happiness at participating in the Milipol Qatar event representing the Pakistani government. He praised the excellent Qatari-Pakistani relations at all levels. “The products and security equipment in the field of civil protection shown in the exhibition confirm the high-level of the event and the reputation that these international companies made offer the best of its products”. He said.He added that the achievement of security is the highest goal pursued by all countries. Therefore, all countries must cooperate with each other in order to achieve global security and there should be greater coordination and collaboration in security areas among the countries of the world.
