The Punjab Education Minister Om Parkash Soni today handed over appointment letters to teachers working under different societies at his official residence.Reiterating the firm commitment of Captain Amarinder Singh led Punjab Government, the Education Minister said the state had regularised teachers working under different societies and decision to this effect was taken after detailed deliberations with varied teacher unions by holding meetings. He said that the Government had apprised Union representatives about the regularisation process and they had given their consent in this regard. Mr Soni said that the previous Government, which had recruited all these teachers also decided to give Rs 9200 during probation period for three years while Captain Amarinder Singh Government would provide Rs. 15,300 to these teachers.Criticising the opposition parties for making hue and cry over teachers issue for their vested political interests, the Education Minister pointed out that Government had already an option to teachers either to continue in the existing societies at present pay or join at the basic pay of 15,300 for three years before being regularised. The existing societies con not be scrapped, he added. The Minister accused the previous SAD-BJP for not regularised teachers after being 10 years in power as these teachers were recruited in 2007.  He said that whenever these teachers raised demand of regularisation in the department, they were beaten He also announced that Punjab Government will soon regularise the teachers recruited under 5178, who were not yet regularised.
