Ghar-Ghar Rozgar scheme initiated by Punjab Govt. to provide employment opportunities to unemployed youth in the state, has given employment opportunities to 3454 persons in district SAS Nagar. Giving further details about this Deputy Commissioner Gurpreet Kaur Sapra said that employment opportunities under Ghar Ghar Rojgaar Scheme has been provided to unemployed youth by providing vocational training through Skill Development, Common Service centre and through Mahatma Gandhi Sarbat Vikas Yojna.Smt. Sapra said that low interest loans have been provided to 32 applicants in district under Prime Minister Employment Generation Program. Similarly under Punjab Skill development Mission Program, skill development training has been provided to 239 persons. Out of which 103 persons has fetched employment opportunities in various sectors. She said that village level common service centres have been established in the district, whereat 293 village level entrepreneurs have been designated. Common Service Centres will provide common citizen services at village level.
Smt. Sapra said that in association with Punjab National Bank RSETI has provided free training to 649 poor & needy persons for establishing their own business. Out of trained person, low interest loans have been granted to 223 people, whereas 140 persons after achieving the, know how in these training courses have started their businesses at their own level. Similarly 363 persons after completing training through Self Employment Training institute has started their own work and are now earning more than Rs. 15 thousand per month. Training of Sewing, Dress designing, Beauty Parlour etc. is being provided to the unemployed girls at village level camps whereas training courses on dairy farming, electrician, plumbing, air conditioning etc. are being offered to the male candidates. Candidates attending these training courses becomes self reliant and become able to fulfil their needs to live a better life.
