A fortnight long Swachhta Hi Sewa campaign concluded here at New DC Office Complex Kishtwar. An impressive function was organized by District Administration in collaboration and coordination with NSS volunteers of GDC Kishtwar and Umeed Group.The function was attended by SSP Kishtwar Rajinder Kumar Gupta, ADDC Kishtwar Imam Din, ADC Kishtwar Pawan Kumar Parihar, ACD Kishtwar Anil Kumar Chandail, Principal GDC Kishtwar Prof Pawan Kumar, DPO Kishtwar Sunil Kumar Bhutyal, besides other district and sectoral officers. Volunteers of NSS, Umeed group and students of various private and govt. schools were present at the occasion.Speaking at the occasion District Development Commissioner, Kishtwar Angrez Singh Rana stated that after the declaration of ODF status in the district there should be continuous usage of the constructed toilets. He directed the concerned officers to make frequent field visits while ensuring that usage of toilets might become part and parcel of the lives of the rural poor.DDC further asked the students community in particular to waive off the tired feelings towards Swachhta and asked the students to work as torch bearers in the Swachhta Mission.He stressed upon the importance of cleanliness, hygiene and safe environment which keeps the diseases at bay. He asked all the participants to spare two hours in a week towards the cleanliness activities as pledged by them as the enlightened citizens of the country.At the outset of the programme, DPO Kishtwar in his welcome address welcomed the dignitaries. He further appraised that District Kishtwar has achieved 100% IHHL coverage and district has already been conferred with the ODF status on 22 -08-2018 .
