On a tip off, a special team deputed by Commissionerate of Food and Drug Administration, Punjab conducted a raid at Bhagwati Flour Mill at village Alamgir in district Ludhiana.The joint team of Food Safety Officers and Dairy Development officers from Sangrur inspected Bhagwati Agro Products Manufacturing Unit at Ludhiana wherein 2000 quintals of damaged wheat and 1500 quintal of quality wheat along with 800 bags of atta of 10 kg each were found.The damaged wheat had turned black and was emitting foul smell. The same rotten wheat was being fed into the flour mill along with quality wheat.The team filled the samples of wheat, atta , maida and suji made in the mill for further investigation and sealed the mill. It was also found that the mill was running without FSSAI licence.
